Fairy Tale Fun Run: Our First Festival of Stories

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge book nerd. My involvement with the Literacy Project is no coincidence!

I'm extremely excited to announce our first ever Fairy Tale Fun Run. This event is open to people of all ages and abilities. You can run, walk, roll, or stroll around the walking track at the Cave City Park. We'll be drawing for race winners, so everyone will have a chance to win! All race finishers will have the opportunity to create their own wishing bottle as a finisher medal. Racers will also receive a free wristband which will give them access to all Fun Run activities. T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Local businesses and organizations will be set up around the track providing games and activities for the young and young at heart. All of which will be available with general admission. We'll also be enrolling children ages 0-5 in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a program through United Way which sends children a free book each month in the mail.

The costume contest will also be free to those who have paid general admission. Come as your favorite character! All ages are encouraged to participate. We'll have the following divisions:

Senior 55+
Fan Favorite

Categories will be judged based on creativity and personality. However, the fan favorite category can be influenced by your votes!

Admission is $5 for children 3-10 and seniors 55+ and $10 for ages 11-54. Ages 0-2 have free access. All proceeds support adults learning to read and write or speak English.

We hope to see as many community members as possible come out to support adult literacy. If you would like to sign up ahead of time, we have a page at
