Fairy Tale Fun Run: Our First Festival of Stories

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge book nerd. My involvement with the Literacy Project is no coincidence!

Registration Open for Splash and Dash 2018!

We're excited to announce a new location for our annual Splash and Dash for Literacy. This year, we'll hold our multi-sport event at the new Batesville Aquatics Park and Community Center.

Adults will swim, run, and bike. Children will run, swim, and splash in the park!

We're Hiring for Americorps!

Americorps is a national service program in which volunteers serve in exchange for a living stipend, on-the-job experience, and an educational award. OFLP is currently seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and outgoing people to fill two Americorps positions.

Americorps members will:

Tutor Adults in Reading and ESL
Assist with Intake and Assessment
Recruit and Train new Tutors and Students
Attend Training and Conferences which will Improve Job Skills
Build a Network

Tamales for Tutoring! A Delicious Way to Support Literacy

We are currently selling tickets for our first annual tamale fundraiser. All proceeds benefit our work with students in Fulton, Sharp, Independence, and Izard counties.

Tickets are $8.00 and provide six tamales each. You may buy as many tickets as you like before February 23rd. They will be available for pick up on the 25th from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Batesville located at 3800 Harrison St.

Registration to Open Early for 2017 Splash and Dash and Adult Tri

Registration is set to open January 1st, 2017 for the upcoming Splash and Dash Kid's Event and Adult Triathlon.

More information can be found under the menu option "Splash & Dash / Triathlon" at the top of this page.

Registration will be open on both racesonline.com and raceroster.com.

All proceeds from these events benefit adult literacy in Independence, Sharp, Fulton, and Izard counties.

2016 Giving Tuesday Campaign

There are many ways to give! We appreciate all of our supporters who donate time, money, and talent to the literacy project. Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is recognized as a worldwide day of charitable giving.
